Alterhuman, what is it?

The alterhuman community is essentially all humans that fall under the umbrella term of "alternative". Our event is for those who dont fit into societal norms, or have hobbies and interests deemed "weird" by others.
Someone who is alternative may enjoy cosplay, alternative fashion, extensive collecting, etc! Anything that derives from everything standard and or basic is considered alternative. This can show up in self expression, spirituality, and personality.Helpful terms:
Furry -> someone who enjoys dressing as anthropomorphic animals (animals with human traits. Usually very colorful animals like dogs and cats that stand on 2 legs and speak like humans) people put a lot of time and money into the cosplay of their original character (OC) animal, and it’s simply animal cosplay for fun and hobby.Kemonomimi -> someone who purely enjoys wearing ears and a tail. The direct translation is animal ears, and people may do this as a hobby, or just because they think its cute! Its similar to wearing wired cat ears as a child (iykyk!)Therian -> someone who has an involuntary non-human identity in relation to animals within their soul. This practice is actually called therianthropy, and dates back to the 1990s! One may act as their theriantrope (involuntary animal of connection) by exploring in the wilderness more, and feeling more connected to themselves when they wear tails and things like realistic animal masks. Although you don’t need “gear” (things such as ears and a tail) to identify this way, it helps a lot of those who do.The best part about all of these terms? They have no connection! Kemonomimi, furry, and therian are all separate, and don’t have much to do with eachother when it comes down to specifics. “Furry” is often used as an umbrella term, since all hobbies and identities involve animals, but its important to note the distinction between the two.And despite popular belief, none of them are kink. Hate and misinformation online spreads like fire, and amongst the accusations are those questioning if each of these identities really are just kinks in disguise, and the answer has always been no.
At their core, each hobby is purely safe for work and shouldnt ever be sexualized, as it would involve the sexualization of animals which is generally immoral.

What are these events?

Our events are a great way to connect with people in the same age group (via visible color=age system) about the things that you love!With supplies for activities and food provided, we create a safe, non judgmental space for you to express yourself freely with others doing the same.
Attending a gathering like this may help create long-standing bonds that eliminate the alienating feeling someone who is alternative may experience. It's not foreign to anyone with a different fashion style to feel out of place. It's not unheard of for someone with lesser-known interests to have trouble connecting with others. It's not an issue with Alter-az !
